The special session on Networking will promote and facilitate active peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, learning and networking between all ITMEMS3 participants.
We ask that you please fill in the Networking Card at the time of registration, loosely attached in the Guide to ITMEMS3, at the time of registration. The information that you provide will be compiled into an overall Directory of ITMEMS3 Participants, which will be made available at the end of ITMEMS3.
The structure of the networking session will be explained in Plenary at the start of the session. Details of your working groups for this session will be available at the Information Centre. All ITMEMS3 participants are expected to attend.
It is hoped that this event will:
- Foster a greater sense of the underlying attitudes of managers and resource stewards to marine resource management challenges and Marine Protected Areas;
- Enable participants to meet individuals working on projects or initiatives relevant to their own work; and
- Discover and set in motion possibilities for future cooperation and collaboration.
Through this process, ICRAN will also seek to identify effective mechanisms to facilitate the exchange of lessons learned between managers and highlight the common management challenges across the globe.
