The integrated and participatory strategies theme explores the conservation and sustainable use of coral reefs and related ecosystems at the local level. Community representatives managing projects and initiatives sponsored by the GEF Small Grants Programme and championed by the UNDP Equator Initiative presented their day-to-day experiences in workshops focusing on issues ranging from participation, integrated strategies, capacity development (individual, institutional, interinstitutional, physical and financial), and traditional management.
